Viruses and spyware are capable of invading your computer system either through upfront attacks or sneaky attacks. Once they infect your PC, it can be very difficult to remove them completely.

Malicious viruses can cause damages to your computer and may disrupt normal operations.

Spyware can steal your personal information and can be dangerous to your privacy.

Common infiltrations include email attachments, file sharing with an infected PC, unsafe program installation, and even through a "back door" port in your PC.
Whichever way they enter, once they get in, you'll definitely experience much annoyance and frustration.
Some of the common symptoms of a computer infected with a virus, spyware, or adware are as follows: .

Unusual, frequent pop-ups appear and redirection occurs .

Frequent freezes or lock ups, crashes, and very slow performance .
Your PC boots up longer than usual . The available hard drive space in your PC goes missing .
Changed and irreplaceable wallpaper . A deleted program that suddenly reappears when you start up your computer If you've experienced any of the strange occurrences above, then your computer might be infected with a malicious virus or spyware. The next step for you to do is to identify them and delete the code.
To do this, you can follow these easy steps: 1.
First off, it's very important to back up all your valuable data.

Scan these files first to avoid re-infection of the virus unto your computer. 2.

Update your anti-virus program, then do a full scan of the hard drive.
Follow the guideline to quarantine and remove corrupted files. 3.
Use your anti-spyware to scan the hard drive and remove all detected spyware or adware.
4.
If you acquired the virus or spyware through installing a free game or utility, you should uninstall these to remove all traces of the problem.
5. Update your anti-virus software regularly. Additionally, set up your firewall and keep it updated also for maximum protection. If you do not have an antivirus software I recommend you go to Google and type in online antivirus scanner. You should be able to find some very good free scanners that you could use. My personal favorite is nod32. Its very good and not very resource intense like other antivirus programs I dealt with.

If you are looking for a free software that would protect your computer at all times I recommend you look into avg it's a free program that performs very well and its free.
